Our commitment, in practice
We are a feminist, queer-inclusive network.
That's not a slogan on a page — it's a working list of commitments we hold ourselves to, across every branch and every project. This is our equity workplan: what we actually do, and how to reach us directly if we fall short of it.
Leadership, not just participation
We're committed to gender-balanced leadership across every branch. When a facilitator, trainer or project-lead role opens up, women, girls and gender-diverse young people are actively encouraged to step into it — not just invited to attend.
A safe space, enforced
Every Elysium+ activity runs under our Values & Standards, which name gender identity, sexual orientation and gender expression explicitly as protected grounds. Homophobia, transphobia and sexism are treated as standards violations, with the same seriousness as any other breach — never as a lesser issue.
Language and forms that include
Registration forms ask for the name and pronouns someone actually goes by, not a binary checkbox. Our non-formal education sessions carry content on gender and LGBTQ+ awareness as a standing part of the curriculum, not an optional extra bolted on for appearances.
A reporting channel that works
Concerns about discrimination — including transphobia, homophobia or sexism — can be raised directly and confidentially at [email protected]. They go to network coordination, not just whoever was most affected having to handle it alone.
Partners who meet the same bar
We raise our standards on inclusion with venues, host organisations and partners before confirming a project together — not after something has already gone wrong.
