Youth Peacebuilding Partnership
Astra — Elysium+'s German branch — is preparing an application under Erasmus+ Key Action 2, Capacity Building in the Field of Youth (Sub-Saharan Africa lot), built around youth-led peacebuilding, non-formal education and cross-border cooperation between Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.
About the project
Peacebuilding, built together
This project is still taking shape — that's deliberate. Rather than write the concept alone and invite partners in afterwards, we're building the partnership first, so the young people and organisations actually doing the work help shape what it looks like. We already have a partner organisation in Kenya helping form the idea, and we're now looking for more: educational institutions, youth NGOs, community organisations and youth-led initiatives, from Europe or Sub-Saharan Africa, all welcome.
Erasmus+'s funding rules mean a single project can only draw partners from one region outside Europe — so this one is built specifically around Sub-Saharan Africa, alongside European partner organisations. The exact activities (a youth exchange, training courses, or a longer capacity-building programme) will take shape together with confirmed partners as the concept note comes together.
Nothing here is confirmed funding yet — this is a genuine call for partners ahead of a call that hasn't opened. The timeline above is our best estimate based on this action's usual yearly pattern, not an official date.
Who we're looking for
Any organisation working with young people — schools, NGOs, community groups, youth-led initiatives — based in one of the eligible countries below. This is the official Erasmus+ "Region 9" list, exactly as defined for this call.
🇪🇺 Europe — 33 countries
🌍 Sub-Saharan Africa (Region 9) — 49 countries
What being a partner means
Helping shape the project from this early stage, co-running activities such as a youth exchange, and — as a registered organisation — being able to receive EU sub-grant funding if the application is successful.
